Purbeck Artisan Yard – Lino-block printing workshops - Terms & Conditions
Information, terms and conditions
Please read the below;
The workshop environment
The workshop will be held at the Purbeck Artisan Yard, which is in an historic converted fire station and will take place on the ground floor. It is an old building and has uneven flagstone floors. Students will need to stand for the duration of the course, although there is seating available on site, it may not be suitable for sitting at working height. Although the workshops are taking place in April and May, the main door will be open for the duration of the workshop and the room is not heated, so please dress accordingly for the day's temperature. Cleaning the lino block stamps will take place in the yard outside in an unplumbed water trough (under cover if it is raining). Hand-washing facilities are available.
The textile printing inks
The inks you will be using are industrial standard and will permanently mark fabrics, including shoes. Please wear clothing and footwear that takes this into account. No matter how careful everyone is, accidents can happen so it's best to dress accordingly. The ink is not harmful to skin but plastic gloves will be provided as it can stain. Health and Safety Data sheets will be available for reference if required.
We only have space for 6 participants per session, so if you'd like to join us advance booking is essential. Sadly, if you arrive on the day without booking we will be unable to accommodate you around the table.
